Geese Herding.

Geese Herding starts with an introduction to two working sheepdogs. Both know the same commands. Both have been trained to the same standard. But they are their own characters — and what works brilliantly on one will not necessarily work on the other. Your team finds this out quickly.

The task is to use the dogs to herd a gaggle of geese through an obstacle course and into a pen. The expert handler teaches the whistle commands and the basics of how to read the dogs — and then hands control to the team. What follows is a masterclass in communication, patience, and adapting your approach when something isn't working.

It's genuinely funny. It's also genuinely difficult. Learning to communicate differently with two individuals who respond to the same instructions in different ways is exactly the challenge of managing a team. The geese add an unpredictable variable that no one in the boardroom can prepare for.

  • What it builds: communication, adaptability, patience, reading individuals and adjusting approach.

  • Format: expert briefing followed by team-led herding challenge through an obstacle course.

  • Suitable for: all group sizes and abilities.
